Orthodontics Module: #
The Orthodontics Module in Cloudpital is designed to assess and document patients’ orthodontic needs comprehensively. It includes the ability to record the chief complaint to understand the patient’s primary concerns. Sections for general health, dental health, and oral hygiene provide a holistic view of the patient’s condition.
The module also supports the evaluation of skeletal classification, profile type, and FM angle, aiding in accurate diagnosis. Parameters like overjet, overbite, crowding, and spacing help determine the severity of malocclusion and plan treatments effectively. This detailed documentation ensures personalized and efficient treatment plans for patients.
The Orthodontics Module allows detailed orthodontic assessment and treatment planning. It evaluates occlusion (canine/molar), crossbite, midline alignment, crowding/spacing, and diastema causes. The tooth quality section records conditions like carious or traumatized teeth. The Treatment Plan Information feature enables structured planning for personalized care.
1.1 Permission Settings for Dental’s Perio Feature: #
From the Schedule screen click on Others.
Click on Staff.
The Staff screen appears. Select the user with whom you are currently logged in. In this case, I am granting permissions to Admin Ali, as I am currently logged in as Admin Ali.
You just need to click on the edit icon.
The staff screen will appear. Now, click on ‘Clinic Role’
For the Dental speciality, you have to click on Permissions in order to assign this doctor the permissions for the Orthodontics module.
When you click on Permissions, a drop-down will appear with the option of Orthodontics. Select Orthodontics and then click on the Save button. The Orthodontics permission will be granted to Admin Ali.
Now click on the update button and the changes will be saved successfully.
1.2 Create dental Appointment #
Now, go to the Schedule screen and create an appointment for a dental patient with any Doctor .
Click on any Slot and make an appointment.
The Appointment Details screen will appear. Select the patient and click on the Save button.
Appointment has been created.
Now, click on the Appointment and then click on the Clinical Note button.
Clinical Note screen will appear.
On the top-right corner, there is a drop-down menu that allows you to access the Orthodontics screen.
Initially, this screen will appear, and you can add data by clicking the add button.
When you click on the add button the screen will look like this.
1.2.1 Chief Complaint #
The chief complaint section allows orthodontists to document the patient’s primary concerns, such as misaligned teeth, bite issues, or other orthodontic problems. This section ensures that the patient’s main issues are clearly identified and prioritized, aiding in accurate diagnosis and tailored treatment planning. It also facilitates better communication between the patient and practitioner, ensuring the treatment aligns with the patient’s expectations and needs.
The General Health and Dental Health Section in the orthodontic module allows doctors to record critical details about the patient’s overall general health, dental health, and oral hygiene. It also includes fields for documenting if there are teeth extracted or absent and the condition of dentition at the time of examination. These fields provide a comprehensive understanding of the patient’s health, ensuring that any underlying conditions affecting orthodontic treatment are noted. This feature helps in creating personalized treatment plans, improving the accuracy of diagnosis and enabling better treatment outcomes within the Cloudpital system.
You can add data by just clicking on the fields.
1.2.2 Assessment Information #
The Assessment Information section in the Orthodontics module of Cloudpital is designed to capture detailed data essential for diagnosing and planning orthodontic treatments. It includes fields for skeletal classification, profile type (straight, convex, or concave), and incisal classification, helping determine the alignment and structure of teeth and jaws. Key metrics such as overjet, crossbite, and buccal occlusion are recorded for accurate analysis of malocclusions.
Options to document crowding, spacing, midline deviations, and diastema are included, allowing clinicians to assess gaps or overlaps between teeth. Additionally, canine and molar relationships are classified to evaluate occlusion. The tooth quality subsection documents issues like doubtful processes, carious teeth, and traumatized teeth, ensuring comprehensive assessment.
This section is pivotal in Cloudpital for providing a structured approach to orthodontic evaluation, enabling accurate diagnoses and customized treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
For Skeletal Classification, Profile, Incisal Classification, and other options like Overjet, Crossbite, and Buccal Occlusion, you can easily select the appropriate values by clicking on the available radio buttons.
Crowding, Spacing, and Midline Deviations allow you to select upper and lower values from the drop-down menus for precise documentation.
1.2.3 Tooth Quality #
It includes fields to evaluate tooth quality (doubtful process, carious teeth, traumatized teeth) and specify relationships between canine and molar classifications. These details are critical for creating a comprehensive orthodontic diagnosis and planning personalized treatments effectively within the Cloudpital system.
In the Tooth Quality subsection, fields like Doubtful Processes, Carious Teeth, and Traumatized Teeth allow for manual data entry by simply clicking into the text boxes.
Canine and Molar Relationships have interactive radio buttons and drop-downs to categorize occlusion relationships efficiently.
1.2.3 Treatment Plan Information #
The Treatment Plan Information section allows clinicians to organize and manage treatment plans efficiently. By clicking the “Treatment Template” button, you can add predefined treatment templates tailored to orthodontic needs.
Click on the Treatment template button.
A new window will appear which contains predefined templates.
This feature simplifies treatment planning by allowing the selection of commonly used plans, saving time and ensuring consistency. The added plans are displayed in the table below, enabling easy tracking and updates. This functionality enhances the utility of the Orthodontics module in Cloudpital by streamlining workflow and improving treatment accuracy.
When we click on the add icon the treatment plan will be added successfully.
After adding all the fields we can save data by just clicking on the save button.
After Saving data the screen will look like this.
You can also edit the record by clicking on the edit icon
Click on the Edit icon.
Click on the Table of Visit Tab.
1.2.3 Table of Visit #
The Wire Sequence and Elastic Section in the Orthodontics module facilitates detailed documentation of wires and elastics used during treatment.
- Wire Sequence: This part is divided into Upper, Lower, and U + L sections, where you can specify the type of wire, its size, and size parameters by selecting values from the dropdown menus. This ensures accurate tracking of wire configurations throughout the treatment process.
Elastic Section: Here, details about the elastic type, size, pattern, and attachment can also be added using the dropdown menus. This helps monitor the specific elastics used for corrective alignment.
The purpose of the Wire Sequence and Elastic Section is to document and track the specific orthodontic appliances used during treatment. By allowing practitioners to select wire types, sizes, size parameters, and elastic details through dropdown menus, it ensures accurate and standardized record-keeping. This section enables orthodontists to customize and monitor treatment progress effectively, ensuring that adjustments are made with precision for optimal patient outcomes.
The “For Next Visit” section allows orthodontists to plan treatments for upcoming visits by selecting wire types, sizes, parameters, and elastic configurations from drop-down menus. It ensures precise planning and accurate record-keeping for continued care.
1.4 Dental Imaging #
The Dental Imaging tab is used to manage and track patient imaging cases. It allows users to add new imaging requests by clicking the “Add” button, which includes details like case number, send date, return date, and status. This section ensures streamlined management of dental imaging data, enhancing record-keeping and accessibility for orthodontic procedures.
Click on the Dental imaging tab.
We can add data by just clicking on the Add button.
When the Add button is clicked in the Dental Imaging tab, this screen appears, allowing users to input specific imaging details. The user can fill out fields like Case Number, Return Date, and Status to track imaging progress. Features like Periapical imaging, Cephalometric scans, Photos, Panos, and CBCT can be selected based on the required imaging type.
Users can indicate the teeth being scanned via a visual dental chart and upload associated files by clicking the Upload button. This screen ensures efficient documentation, clear communication, and streamlined imaging workflow for orthodontic care.
When you click on the upload button a new window will appear.
Here enter the name of the document and choose file after that click on upload button.
Images will be uploaded successfully.
Save the record by clicking on the Update button.
